Our Discover Scuba Diving program provides an exciting, hands-on introduction to the underwater world, while the Open Water Diver certification course equips you with the confidence, skills, and knowledge to explore the ocean independently.

No previous experience is required — our highly trained instructors will support and guide you through every step of your underwater adventure.

Introduction Dive

You’ll gain the essential skills and knowledge to dive confidently to a maximum depth of 12 meters under the supervision of an SSI/PADI Professional. The program includes 1 hour of basic theory, a 1 hour pool session to practice key techniques, and a guided ocean dive (maximum of 1 hour). All groups are kept small (no more than 4 to one group) and all equipment is fully included.

You can also upgrade this experience to the Basic Diver program, which can be credited towards the Scuba Diver or Open Water Diver certifications if completed within six months.

SSI has perfected the use of digital learning, making the beginner experience simple and seamless. Start studying anytime, anywhere, right from the SSI app or website. If you sign up for the beginner Scuba Diver Course before arriving on Gili Meno, you can complete all the theory and the exam in advance—giving you extra time to relax and enjoy the island once you’re here.

During your pool/confined-water training, your SSI Instructor will guide you through essential skills in a calm, controlled setting—building confidence as you master the basics of beginner scuba diving. Then comes the real thrill: your open-water training dives that take you into the vibrant reefs of Gili Meno. This is where you take everything you’ve learned and put it into action in the ocean itself, repeating key skills and exploring the underwater world under the watchful guidance of your Instructor. It’s the perfect blend of pure adventure, safety, and hands-on experience—designed to transform you from beginner to capable underwater explorer.

After conquering your training sessions, acing the final exam, and completing your open water dives, you’ll earn your digital certification card—instantly available in your MySSI App so you can start planning your next underwater adventure right away.

Open Water Course

Your personalised training is combined with in-water practice sessions to ensure you have the skills and experience required to become a truly comfortable Scuba Diver!

SSI has mastered the use of digital technology to make your learning experience easy. You can start by studying the academics anytime, anywhere at your own convenience using the SSI app

During the pool/confined water training, your SSI Instructor will teach you all the necessary skills in a controlled environment until you are comfortable and ready to go out into the open water. During the open water training dives, you will apply your knowledge and repeat the skills in a real-world environment under the supervision of your Instructor.

Once you have completed all required training sessions, the final exam and the open water training dives, we will issue you your digital certification card which will show up instantly on your MySSI App.
