We’re the crew at Meno Dive Club, and every day we get to explore the amazing underwater world around Gili Meno—think colorful coral reefs, happy turtles cruising by, and tons of awesome sea creatures. It’s honestly magical down there! 🐢🌊✨
But here’s the not-so-magical part… We’re also seeing more and more plastic waste in the water—plastic bags stuck in coral, wrappers floating around, and even sea animals confusing plastic for food. 💔
That’s why we’ve made a big decision: #WEREFUSEPLASTICS isn’t just a cool hashtag for us, it’s a promise.
Here’s how we’re keeping it real (and plastic-free!):
🌱 Refill, Not Landfill
We ask everyone—our divers, our crew, and our visitors—to bring a reusable water bottle. We’ve got refill stations ready to go, so you can stay hydrated without using single-use plastic bottles.
🚫 No to Straws & Takeaway Trash
We’ve said goodbye to plastic straws and other throwaway stuff on our boats and in our dive shop. Instead, we use reusable containers and eco-friendly alternatives wherever we can.
🎓 Ocean Talks
Before every dive, we chat about how to protect the reef, dive responsibly, and reduce plastic waste. Because when people understand what’s at stake, they’re more likely to care.
🧹 Hands-On Help
You might spot our team (and sometimes our awesome guests!) helping out with beach or underwater clean-ups. Every little bit helps, and it feels good too.
We know we can’t fix the plastic problem alone. But we can lead by example and inspire others to make small changes that add up to a big difference. The ocean around Gili Meno is a treasure we all share and we want to keep it that way for future divers, snorkelers, and sea turtles too. 🐢💙
